Seraphinite

Seraphinite – A Gemstone Resembling Angel Wings

Feathers Descended from the Heavens

In the dead of night, a silver wing settles upon a rock in the silent forest. It is the trace of an angel, or perhaps a fragment of mystery risen from the earth's depths. Seraphinite, true to its name, is a gem inspired by the Seraphim—the most noble beings of heaven. The silver fibers cutting through the stone are delicate and brilliant, like the traces of fluttering wings. Through this gem, we witness the fleeting moment where the order of heaven meets the energy of earth.

The Story of Its Birth

In 1789, German geologist Abraham Werner recorded this gemstone under the name ‘Clinoclore’. Meaning ‘inclined green’, this name perfectly captures the physical properties and color of seraphinite, born quietly within nature. Later, this unique form with its silvery fibrous structure was reborn under the name ‘seraphinite,’ becoming recognized today as one of the most mysterious and spiritual gemstones.

Where It Grows

Seraphinite is found in various locations worldwide, but the most beautiful and vivid crystals are born deep within the forests of Siberia, near Lake Baikal in Russia. Traces can also be found in Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and certain regions of Turkey and the United States. Only in these select locations does the green crystal, imbued with silver fibers, fully form under the pressure and passage of time deep within the earth.

Surface Texture, Delicate Interior

Seraphinite's surface exhibits a coexistence of vitreous and pearly luster, occasionally displaying a subtle, oily sheen. With a softness of 2 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale, it is primarily suited for jewelry with minimal contact, such as pendants or earrings. The chatoyancy (a phenomenon where fibers sparkle depending on the light) spreading within it moves ceaselessly, like the fluttering of living wings.

A Stone for Body and Soul

For centuries, people have believed Seraphinite acts as a ‘tuner for body and soul’. It is said to bring peace emotionally and benefit the heart, lungs, and blood flow physically. Corresponding to the heart chakra, Seraphinite infuses our lives with the energies of love, forgiveness, and harmony.

Its energy flows gently and persistently rather than intensely. Like morning dew, it slowly seeps into the heart, restoring balance.

Wings for Your Inner Self

Seraphinite is complete in itself as a gemstone. Prioritizing meaning over adornment, this stone is a jewel for everyday moments rather than special occasions. The inner voice we often forget, suppressed emotions, or wounds too difficult to face. Seraphinite quietly embraces it all.

This green feathered stone, where light and shadow, stillness and vibration coexist, may unfold the hidden wings within you once more.

Seraphinite is the first stone to begin a conversation with your inner self.
